What's Going On?

Here's whats been going on...

Last Sunday night it snowed. For the first time this winter. We got an inch or two at our house and then by Monday morning, it was gone. Snowing on Sunday and then 75 degrees on Friday. What is going on with this weather? At this point I don't even care if its hot or cold...just make up your mind.

This week we were getting ready for Josh's trip to Vegas. He left this afternoon and he is in the air as we speak. This is his first plane ride and I hope he is having fun. I guess I am the only one left who has never been on a plane. Oh well.

On Friday Josh brought the girls home a few little treats since he is going to be gone a week. He brought Emma a Cinderella doll and Ryleigh a little Belle baby doll. They also got a princess puzzle to share. He is such a great dad. I know it is breaking his heart to be gone this long.

This will be the longest that Josh and I have been apart since we met back in 2004. I know I could never be a military wife. I'm just praying that I make it through a week, let alone months or years. I think it breaks my heart more now because Emma actually understands that daddy isn't here and he won't be home soon. She keeps saying that daddy is on the airplane and he is working.

Yesterday we had a few errands to run and we also took the girls to the pet store. We let Emma get a little betta fish. We had a couple when we lived in our condo but now she is really old enough to understand. We brought it home and let her set up the "fishies house." Once we got him in the tank she wanted him to come out and play.  :( She doesn't quite get that yet. She has named him. Baby Nemo or sometimes she calls him Mr. Fishy.

Yesterday morning I kept Hailey bug for a little while so that Autumn, Williams, and Chey could go snow tubing. The girls had fun playing together.

I have really been working on Emma's handwriting and letters lately. I got her a book of paper that has the big lines on it and also some big beginners pencils and she is doing great. She can now do her A's, B's, and C's really well. She is so proud of herself. She can also count to thirty. She loves to learn and I love that about her.

I am really looking forward to Spring Break coming up. This semester is really kicking my butt, which is why blogging has been put on the back burner. I am just trying to focus on doing my best. I will be so glad when these classes are done though.

Since Josh is going to be gone all week I am planning some fun things for the girls. On Wednesday we are going with Autumn, Chey, Hailey, and Nana to Raleigh to visit Marbles. Marbles is a big children's museum and I've been wanting to take them for a while now. I know they will really enjoy it.

Ryleigh will be 2 in about 2 weeks. How did that happen? I still try to think of her as my baby...but I'm quickly realizing she is a little girl now. I have had to completely start over on party planning because of an invitation issue but I'm confident I'll pull it together this week.

Friday night I put the girls in the bath tub with about 4 glow sticks and some glow bracelets and turned the lights off. They LOVED it.

Ok, I'm going to watch the Oscars now. Hope yall have a great week!

::Little Valentines::

I am not a big fan of Valentines Day. Never really have been. However, now that we have the girls I look forward to each holiday to do something special for them. Anyway....today was a pretty busy day. I had a doctors appointment this morning so Josh's parents came over for a little while to keep the girls. They had so much fun with their grandparents. Emma was pretty disappointed when she got up from her nap and they were gone. After nap time Ryleigh had therapy and Emma and I made a Valentines card for daddy. Emma also practiced her cutting skills. She has quickly picked up on how to use scissors, but now we have to work on cutting in a straight line. Once Josh got home we gave the girls a little box of chocolates which they were so happy about. I had plans of making Josh chicken parmesan for dinner tonight. We have it every Valentines because on our first Valentines Day he made it for me and it has just been a tradition of ours. Mid afternoon I started not feeling well so we had to cancel the chicken parm. :( I plan on making it for us Thursday though. Once the girls were done with dinner I let them take a bubble bath with tons of bubbles! I swear they could play in the tub forever. Emma wasn't much in the picture taking mood so a lot of them are Ryleigh. These little girls are so cute though.

Long Week

This week has been kind of a rough week. We got out of the house Wednesday afternoon to go to dance class and also this morning for a couple of errands, but other than that, we have been home. Ryleigh has been fussy everyday for the last week. She just stands around screaming and fussing. If I try to pick her up she falls to the ground and just lays there. I thought she might be getting sick but after talking to my mom, she thinks that she is teething. I can't get in her mouth enough to see without her chomping my fingers off though. For the last couple of days she has been waking up in the morning and from nap time with her bed covered in diarrhea. I know......TMI but that is just what my days have been like. The diarrhea is the only symptom she has had so I think teething is a safe bet. So this week we have done a lot of lounging around the house. I took all the pictures on my phone so they aren't great quality at all, but at least I took pictures. :)

Happy Friday!!

The girls watching The Little Mermaid. They love to sit together and cuddle under a blanket.

Emma loves to get in her sleeping bag. She thinks it's the most fun thing ever.

This picture is actually from last Sunday at my moms house. Ryleigh was in the playroom all by herself and so she plopped down to watch cartoons.

Thursday morning Ryleigh got up really not feeling well so cuddled for a little while.

Anytime Emma does something, Ryleigh does it too.
Riding around this morning.

One of our stops this morning was the grocery store. We had to get some baby wipes and a few other things. Emma has become a pro at pushing these little shopping carts around. The only problem is that anything she sees with a princess or Cars on it, she throws it in the cart.
