8 Months Old!

Emma is 8 months old today. This month was a big month for her because she learned how to pull up on things and also said mama for the first time. She is trying so hard to crawl too. She is able to get up on her hands and knees but she rocks a little and then falls on her tummy. She rolls around and worms a lot though. This month she also graduated to the big girl tub. She loves taking baths. She will stay in there all day if we let her. She loves her little yellow ducks. She is using her sippy cup like a champ and she has recently learned how to pick up her little puffs and feed herself. Right now Emma's favorite things to play with are the remote and my cell phone. She will do anything she can to get to them. We even had to give her one of our old remotes to play with so she would stay away from ours. She continues to be a great baby. Josh and I are so spoiled by her right now. Emma LOVES American Idol. Every Tuesday night, she will usually sit and stare at the t.v. and watch American Idol. She only watches about half of it though. She is eating 3 solid meals a day with only one bottle at bedtime. I think her favorite thing to eat right now is pancakes. I will give her a couple of mini pancakes sometimes for breakfast and just a tiny bit of syrup to dip them in and she LOVES it. What baby wouldn't like sweet syrup in the morning? Emma is such a happy and fun little girl. She is changing so much and learning so many things. Our little baby is growing up so fast.

i will post 8 month pics in a day or two

She Did What?

Guess what Emma did today? She said mama. Well she actually cried it....not said it. She was in her jumper and I was putting some laundry in the washer. I didn't know it then, but she had pooped and when she poops she will cry until you change her. So I was trying to hurry and get her out and she just cried out....mama. I couldn't believe it. I hope she realized what she said and will continue to say it. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Mommy and Emma Day

Josh was in the mountains all day today playing golf for an association meeting so I decided to make today a mommy and Emma day. We started off going out to lunch at Red Robin. It was so yummy. I got Emma a little pink balloon they had there and she mostly played with it the whole time. After lunch, we went to Target and shopped around. Emma ended up falling asleep in the stroller which gave me plenty of time to walk the entire store. Then we went to my mom and dads house to visit for a while. I gave Emma a bath while I was up there. She played with a little yellow duck the whole time and she giggled like crazy when I would squeak it. I had such a great day spending it with Emma. She is such a fun and happy little person to be around.

Playing in the Pool

Today was about 90 degrees so we decided to go to my mom and dads house to let Emma play in the pool. This was the first time she has ever been in the pool and she loved it. I put her beach toys in there for her to play with. After playing for a little while she took a nap and then Autumn, William, and Cheyenne came over and Cheyenne was able to play in the pool with her. Autumn didn't plan on Cheyenne getting in the pool so she didn't have any Little Swimmer diapers. So her regular diaper got too full so Autumn took it off her and just let her play in her birthday suit. Swimming ended when Cheyenne let something go floating in the pool.[ill leave that too your imagination] I'm sure between the two of them that its not the only time that it's going to happen this summer. But the girls had fun playing in the pool together. Waiting to get in the pool

8 Things

OK so my sister asked me to do this....so here goes....

8 Things I Am Looking Forward To

1. The Weekend. I am constantly looking forward to every weekend. During the week, I don't get much sleep and I miss out on spending some time with my family so I am constantly wanting Saturday to hurry up and come.

2. The Many Beach Trips This Summer. Josh and I plan on going to the beach a lot this summer. We are looking forward to playing with Emma on the sand and also taking her out on the boat.

3. Watching Emma Crawl. She is trying to hard right now but she just hasn't figured it out yet. I'm sure she will soon.

4. Emma's 1st Birthday. I have been planning her first birthday for a while. I have so many ideas and things that I want to do. I still have 4 more months to go...but you know me...I'm a planner.

5. 7:00 a.m. This is what I look forward to most every night because it means I'm finally off work and can go home.

6. Next Winter. Even though I'm looking forward to doing a lot of things with Emma this summer, I desperately need next winter to come. I love the cold weather and when it gets dark at 5:00.

7. My 1st Mothers Day. This year will be my 1st real Mothers Day. I got a card last year because I was pregnant but Josh better be planning something good this year. :]

8. Katie's Graduation. No I'm not looking forward to sitting and watching 600 kids graduate but I am so proud of Katie and I'm glad she is starting the next chapter in her life. I'm also glad that after that, my mom and dad are DONE.

8 Things I Did Yesterday

1. Laundry. I usually do laundry every other day so that theres not so much on the weekend and I have more time to spend with my family.

2. Watched American Idol. I wish I didn't sometimes, but I Love this show. I don't know who I want to win yet....but I'm thinking Kris Allen or Allison Ireheta. What do you think?

3. Slept. My mom kept Emma for a few hours so that I could get some sleep. Thanks MOM!

4. Gave Emma her bedtime bottle. I try to give Emma her bottle whenever I can because usually I'm getting ready for work when it's time so I miss out on it. I know I will be sad when she's not getting one anymore. :[

5. Took a Nap with Emma. Since my mom didn't come get Emma till after lunch I took a nap with her in the morning. I love cuddling with Emma....she's so sweet.

6. Changed our sheets. They really needed it....trust me.

7. Watched The Biggest Loser. I DVR'd it from the night before. I watch every season and I miss watching it with my mom when I used to live at home. :[

8 Things I Wish I Could Do

1. Go on an Airplane. I've never been on an airplane.....yes, I know, that's pretty sad.

2. Meet Rachel Ray. I love me some Rachel Ray...she is so spunky.

3. Bake More. I love to bake but there just isn't enough hours in a day.

4. Prevent Premature Births. There are some people who just don't know how lucky they are to have healthy babies but I'm thankful to know what a blessing it is to have a healthy little girl.....some people don't ever get that.

5. Buy a new wardrobe. But I have bigger responsibilities and sometimes those things just have to wait.

6. Take a couple weeks off work. I need just a couple of weeks to finish up some house projects and to organize a little bit. I just don't have enough time.

7. Go Back to School. I regret not doing it when I had the chance but hopefully one day I can. But again....that takes a lot of money....so we'll see.

8. Live without technology. Life would be so much simplier without phones, laptops, etc. I hate that I'm one of those people who is addicted to it. Ggggrrrrrrr......

Just Like Daddy

While at Dick's Sporting Goods this past Saturday, Josh was looking at golf clubs[surprise surprise] so Emma and I ventured off and found her very own golf club. I couldn't find a pink one so we had to settle for blue. She loved holding onto and banging on her stroller. I'm sure she will have her first set of clubs before she even turns 5 years old.

Happy Birthday Sweetheart!

Today is Josh's 26th birthday. I am so thankful for this wonderful man in my life. He is the most amazing husband, father, son, brother, and friend anyone could ever ask for. He has been there for me anytime I've ever needed him and he's even there for me when I'm too stubborn to realize that I need help. He is the most hardworking, honest, sweet, and helpful person I've ever known. I am so lucky to have him as a husband and as Emma's daddy!

I love you so much sweetheart. Happy 26th Birthday!

Hey Moms...Look at this!

I recently got Emma a beach towel for this summer. It is too cute, so I thought I would share it with you just in case you are looking for one for your special little person. I got it from Pottery Barn Kids.[they have the prettiest stuff...a little pricey...but not if you catch a sale] So they have two different sizes of towels....a regular sized and then a mini towel for the toddlers and babies. I got Emma a mini towel with a mermaid on it. It is the perfect size for her. I also got it personalized with Emma's name on it. It is so CUTE!! It is a nice thick towel that will last her a few years so I didn't mind spending a little more on it. I also caught it on sale which was nice. But ofcourse they have them for boys and girls. They have about 3 prints for each. Emma is ready to go to the beach now....and the pool!

The first picture is the towel that Emma got....isn't it cute?

Easter!

Today was such a fun day. Emma got a visit from the Easter bunny! He got her, her first purse!! It talks and plays music. It also has car keys, a mirror, lipstick, money, and a bracelet that goes inside. She played with it all day. We started the day off by going to church. Emma looked so cute in her little dress and hat. She sat through the whole service and did awesome. Then after church we went to my mom and dads house. We played outside and then we had dinner. Emma had her first taste of potato casserole and she loved it. She also had some desert. It's fun to give her new foods. I'm always curious to find out if she likes something or not. I think Emma had a great first Easter! Hope you all did too! Table Food

Emma has been eating 3 solid meals a day for a while and now that I can give her table food I am starting to introduce her to different things. Tonight we tried some smashes potatoes with broccoli and some peaches. There were a few times she would spit out the potatoes and broccoli but I think it was more of a different texture thing than a taste thing. She ended up eating it all and was looking for more. Yummy apple juice

Big Girl Tub

Emma graduated to the big girl tub today. She tries to climb out of her little pink tub so I had no choice but to move her to the big tub. She still gets a little unsteady sometimes so I have to keep a close eye on her. She loved having more space to fit in more toys.

Lunch with "Aunt" Brittany

My best friend since 5th grade, Brittany, is in town this weekend for Easter and we met her for lunch today at Fatz Cafe. It was so good to see her and catch up. She had not seen Emma since she was a couple of months old I think. Emma loved playing with her.

Easter Eggs

Last weekend I got Emma some little plastic Easter eggs to play with. She has carried one around all week. They fit in her hand perfectly and she tries so hard to get them all the way in her mouth.

Standing Up

Emma pulled up by herself today for the first time. Usually, if I hold my fingers out she will grab them and pull herself up. She has been able to do that for a while now but today was the first time she actually used something to pull up on. She was so proud of herself. We are definitley going to have to keep a closer eye on her now. I didn't get a chance to get it on video but I will try to soon.

Good job babygirl!

Anniversary Beach Trip

This past weekend Josh, Emma, and I went to Oak Island. Josh and I got married there last year so we thought it would be nice to spend our anniversary there. We had such a great time. Emma did perfect the whole time we were there. The weather was awesome. Saturday was a little windy so we waited until Sunday morning to take Emma out on the beach. This was the first time she has been able to sit on the sand and play. She loved it so much. The first thing she did was eat it. After we got back into Greensboro, we went to my mom and dads house to visit. Before we left, Josh and I lit two of the sparklers that we had at our wedding. Once we got home we ate the top of our wedding cake. I didn't really expect to eat any because lets face it....it has been in the freezer for a year but oh my goodness.....it was sooooo good. Whoever wrapped that thing up knew what they were doing. So I'm sure we will be eating on it for a the next few days.
