Ryleigh Walks!

I know you all are probably really tired of hearing about Ryleigh walking, but as most of you know, it's a HUGE milestone for your children so I want to try and document it as best as I can. Today I was able to get a video of her walking across the living room. She is able to go much farther but she ran into me and had to stop.
(ignore the background talk....I had the "Sex in the City" movie on :] )

More Celebrating

Last night we had another little celebration for Chey's birthday. We went to my mom and dads house and had meatball subs and Autumn made a cake. We also gave Cheyenne her presents last night instead of at her party on Saturday. She got some cool stuff. My mom and dad got her a cool music player that has a microphone. All the kids wanted to play with that thing. She also got a Leapster2 from her mom, dad, and Hailey. Cheyenne is really into the movie "Tangled" right now so we got her a Tangled game to go with her a leapster and also a My Little Pony. I can't believe this little girl is going to be 3 tomorrow. She is becoming such a smart and beautiful little girl. We love you so much Cheyenne. Happy Birthday!

Cheyenne's Birthday Party

On Saturday we went to Cheyenne's birthday party! It was at Chick-fil-a. Cheyenne LOVES Chick-fil-a so it was the perfect place for her. When we got there, the kids had about 30 minutes to play in the playplace and then they had chicken nuggets and fruit for dinner. Autumn made cupcakes and the kids loved them. Last night we celebrated again at my mom and dads house. (more pictures to come)

Walking

Guess who's walking?!
This little girl has been walking all over the place. She's not walking completely full time yet though. She will sometimes drop and crawl but its usually to get to somewhere so she can pull up. She hasn't learned how to stand up from a sitting position but it wont be too long before she figures it out. But I would definitely say that she is really walking! Looks like she might be running around at her 1st birthday party.

Mommy and Daddy are so proud of you sweet girl. We love seeing you toddle around! Now you can keep up with Emma....(well,......sorta)

Just a couple more days.....

Only 2 more days till the weekend! I'm really looking forward to this Saturday because we will be celebrating my sweet niece Cheyenne's 3rd Birthday! I can't believe it's been almost 3 years since she was born. Time just goes by so fast and I love watching her grow up.

Today was a very busy day. This morning my mom came over to help me watch the girls so that I could clean my carpet. I'm embarrassed to say that my carpet hasn't been cleaned in the 3 years that we have lived here, so it desperately needed it. It looks and smells so much better now. It took almost 3 hours to do, but I couldn't have done it without my mom so I'm very thankful to her. Ryleigh and Emma loved having Nana here to play with them.

Josh is out of town again tonight and so after nap time, I took the girls out to pick up a few things. I love going out with the girls. It so much fun just to walk around the stores and look at different things. Ryleigh and Emma are really big "people watchers" so they will just ride in the cart and look around the whole time.

Ryleigh has really started walking some today. She has taken more steps than ever and I have noticed that she prefers to walk now instead of just dropping to the floor to crawl. Today is the first day she has done that so I'm thinking she is really going to starting walking full time soon.

I am kind of excited about American Idol starting tonight. Last year I said that I wasn't going to watch it this year but now that JLO and Steven Tyler are judges, I have to watch! Hopefully it won't be disappointing.

10 Months Old

Today Ryleigh is 10 months old. Only 2 months until she turns 1 and I'm already in "party planning mode". She is growing up so fast these days. Month 10 was a BIG month for Ryleigh as she began taking steps. She's not walking yet but she is taking several steps here and there. I am hoping that she will be walking by the end of the month but we will just have to wait and see.

This month she also started eating real table food. So far she has had peas, carrots, lima beans, peaches, strawberries, and pears. She loves all of them and she does great at picking them up and eating them.

Ryleigh loves watching the Backyardigans. Emma had the same obsession when she was at this age. I don't know what it is about them, but she will sit and watch them forever.

She says dada all. the. time! I love that she does this, but it's never mama. It's ALWAYS dada.

She has 6 teeth right now, 2 on bottom, 4 on the top.

She is wearing anything from 12-24 month clothes. She got her first pair of shoes a couple of weeks ago and they are a size 4 but are still about an inch or so too big.

She is still a mamas girl. She usually wants me over anyone else but she has gotten really great about anyone else holding her.
She loves to play with Emma. Anytime Emma sits down and plays with her, she gets so happy.

She is getting 3 bottles a day now, 6 oz. each.

She takes two naps a day anywhere from 1-2 hours long.

You are becoming such a wonderful little girl. We love you so much.

Happy 10 months Ryleigh!!

Funny Faces

"Iced In"

We were "supposed" to get a big snow this past Monday but it seems as though everyone else got tons of snow and we got a little snow and a lot of ice. So therefore we have spent the past few days inside. I like to have little things put away that I can bring out for Emma to play with when we have to be stuck inside. She loves to sit at the kitchen table and do puzzles or color. For Christmas I asked my mom to make Emma a "craft box". So she got a big box and got all kinds of things to put in it, like paper, paint, scissors, glue, stickers, popsicle sticks, etc. Emma loves to go through everything and pick out what she wants to do. She loves to paint but it's soooo messy, so I love that my mom found this "do-a-dot" art. It has sponge tip bottles that make it cleaner and easier for Emma to paint. It even came with it's own book. I high reccommend it to anyone with small children. Josh and I got Emma the Abby & Emma Magnetic Dress Up Dolls for Christmas also and she will spend forever at the table dressing them up. Josh left about an hour ago to go down to the coast for a big meeting so keep your fingers crossed that it goes well. He won't be home until tomorrow night so it's going to be just me and the girls for today and tomorrow. Most of the ice has melted today so I am going out to Target once Ryleigh gets up from her nap and eats.

baby.steps

It has been nearly impossible to get a video of Ryleigh taking steps. If she even sees a camera, she immediately tries to get to it as fast as possible, which means she starts crawling. I tried to get her to start taking steps and then pull the camera up really fast. I was able to catch about 3 or 4 steps so far. Last night Uncle Sam came over to visit with us and Ryleigh took 7 steps for him. It is the most she has taken in a row so far. Josh and I have been working with her a lot and every time she gets a little more steady. I can't wait till she can run around with Emma. She tries so hard to keep up with her but just can't quite yet.

This video is sideways. I tried to get it vertical but when I did, it wouldn't upload...so just turn your head. :-)

The Past Few Days

Emma has been a silly girl!
Ryleigh loves playing with her barn animals she got for Christmas.
Don't let this picture fool you. Blake and Emma terrorize each other like crazy. He can be sweet but he still has a lot of puppy in him that makes him get into everything.
Ryleigh puts EVERYTHING in her mouth
until she gets caught!
Ryleigh loves to crawl into their room and play by herself.

Emma had fun playing with her letters.

Check Ups

This morning I took both girls to the doctor for checkups. It was for Ryleigh's 9 month and Emma's 2 year(yes, it's really really late). Both of them did great though. Emma got a finger prick and Ryleigh had to get two shots. They are both healthy and growing. It was tough having both of them that had to be checked out because I had two naked babies that wanted to get off the table and play and I was trying to keep them both happy but also listen to what the doctor was saying. She said that since Ryleigh is eating cheerios and crackers like a champ that it was fine to start her on table food. So today for lunch she had real pears, peas, and carrots. No more baby food for Ryleigh. Also, did I mention, she took 5 steps in a row the other night!!! I haven't caught in on camera yet because every time we get the camera out she gets so excited and wants to grab it. She amazes me more and more because she is picking it up so quickly. As long as she doesn't get too excited and try to walk too fast she is able to take multiple steps and still steady herself. I didn't have our new camera today so these pictures aren't as great but they are still cute.

Ta-Da

Here are a couple of pictures of my little Ryleigh standing. Yesterday she started standing much longer than she usually does so Josh and I got down on the floor and she was able to take two steps and then she slowly lowers herself to the ground. I am just amazed that she already has the stability to take a step and then still be standing up and then take another step. You can tell that she wants to walk so bad and Josh and I think she will be walking by the end of the month which will make her about 10 1/2 months old. I think having Emma helps a lot because she tries to keep up with her and wants to play with her all the time. I will try my best to get some video of her taking some steps.

Walking Shoes

I have great news!!! This past Saturday Ryleigh took her 1st step. She has been standing by herself for a couple of weeks now and she is up to about 15 seconds by herself. I know that doesn't sound like long, but for a 9 1/2 month old, I think thats pretty good. She can walk behind both of her walkers just fine, and has learned how to turn while walking too. Ryleigh is constantly moving and I know she wants to walk so bad. I really don't think it will be too long until she is walking all over the place. My guess is around 11 months. But we'll see. I just hope she starts walking soon, cause that little chunker gets heavy. Anyway, since she is trying to walk I thought it was time to get her a pair of shoes. Also, part of the problem is that it's cold here and when I put socks on her, as soon as we get in the car, she pulls them off and chews on them, so that when we get to where we are going they are soaked. So I thought having shoes on would help her leave her socks on and keep her feet warm. I had a hard time finding her some shoes because her feet are a little thick and chunky so I had to go somewhere that could measure her feet and find ones that were comfortable for her. I ended up at Stride Rite. Keep in mind....I really really really don't like going to stride rite because they are very overpriced. But kids shoes are always so expensive and I needed to find a pair that would last her a little while and that would fit. So as soon as Iwalked in, I found the PERFECT pair. They just came out last week and I'm so glad they had ones that fit. Anyway, I always like to blog about little "firsts" like this so, here are Ryleigh's 1st pair of shoes!!!

Are these not cute as a button!?!? I love the little chicks and polka dots. I will post pictures soon of her standing!
