30 Weeks!

How far along? 30 Weeks!

Size of Baby: Grayson is weighing in around 3 lbs and is about 15.7 inches long.

Maternity Clothes: Yes...still need to go get a few new clothes.

Weight: Down 31 lbs. Will get an update on at the doctor on Wednesday.

Gender: IT'S A BOY! Grayson Blake

Labor Signs: Hopefully not till November!

Movement: Lots of big movements now. I can tell he is getting a lot bigger.

Sleeping: Pretty good. Just getting up a lot to use the bathroom.

What I Miss: Not much right now.

What I am looking forward to: All of our fun packages arriving this week. Grayson's pack n play will be here Wednesday and his new crib will be here Friday! I can't wait to put it together.

Cravings/Aversions: cookies, chicken tenders, chips and queso, japanese rice

Symptons: Still heartburn. ugghh

Best Moment this Week:The best moment this week was going shopping with Josh and the girls. We bought Grayson's swing and stroller. We also bought a new video monitor because ours is going to stop working any day now so we really needed a new one. While we were at Babies R Us Emma asked to pick out a book for the baby. So I let her and Ryleigh both pick one out for their brother. It melted my heart.
Sunday morning Emma was my big helper and helped me put together the swing and stroller. She is so excited. She asks about 15 times a day to go look at baby brother's room. I can tell she is going to be a great big sister. We are also going to go look at a car this week. We have had a really hard time finding what we are looking for in the prince range we need and we finally found a couple that will work. So I'll be really glad when that is out of the way.

Here is the few things that we purchased this past week.

We got the Fisher Price My Little Lamb Platinum Edition Swing. We had almost the exact same one with Ryleigh. This is just the newer version that has come out. I like that this one plugs in. Ryleigh's didn't have a plug in option so we went through lots of batteries. All along I had planned on getting a MamaRoo but after a lot of research I felt like this was the better option.

I had also planned on getting a jogging stroller with a carseat attachment for Grayson. But I figured getting something like this stroller made more sense right now. We will use this while he is in the carseat and then maybe next spring get a nice big stroller for him. I put together this stroller myself and it is so nice. I can't wait to start using it.

The monitor we bought is Motorola. We have had both a Summer monitor and Safety 1st monitor and neither of them have done well....especially for how expensive they are. So we are hoping this one will work great. It has pan, tilt, and zoom on both cameras and it also has a talk-back feature. So we can talk to both rooms through the monitor. Pretty cool, huh?
We had a Chicco pack n play with both girls and loved it so we got another Chicco. I love their products. They really are very well made and really easy to put together.

I will wait until I show you his nursery to show the crib we got.

29 Weeks!

How far along? 29 Weeks! Only 10 weeks to go!

Size of Baby: Grayson is weighing in around 2 1/2 lbs and is about 15 inches long.

Maternity Clothes: Yes. I NEED to go get some new clothes.

Weight: According to my appointment last Wednesday I lost 3 lbs so I am 31 lbs down from pre pregnancy weight.

Gender: IT'S A BOY! Grayson Blake

Labor Signs: Hopefully not till November!

Movement: He has definitely turned positions because he has been moving a lot lately. I can tell he is starting to stick out different body parts too.

Sleeping: Ok I guess. I have been feeling kind of sick at night now, especially when I lay down.

What I Miss: Not much right now.

What I am looking forward to: Painting Grayson's room this week and also ordering his crib. We are finally able to start doing some things to prepare for this baby boy.

Cravings/Aversions: spaghetti again, chips and queso

Symptons: Still heartburn. ugghh

Best Moment this Week: I don't really have a "Best Moment" this week. It was pretty uneventful but this coming week we will hopefully be getting a lot done so I'm excited about that.

Hello Kitty Ears

Before we left for the beach Emma was not wetting her diaper at nap time or bed time. This went on for about two weeks so I knew you was ready to give up the diaper but I wanted to wait until after we got home from the beach just in case it didn't go well. Starting this past Monday she has worn panties every day for nap and also bedtime without a single accident. I was expecting her to do well but I thought there might be a couple of little accidents. She has really impressed us though. She is so proud when she wakes up dry every morning. Josh told her on Tuesday that if she stayed dry all week she could pick a surprise for this weekend.

Now for a little back story. Emma's cousin Cheyenne got her ears pierced about a month or so ago and like any child she couldn't wait to show Emma. Emma called them her sparkle ears. For the next couple of weeks Emma asked constantly to get sparkles in her ears too. I was on the fence on whether she was old enough and Josh really didn't believe she was quite old enough so we said no. Well, this past Wednesday at dance class Cheyenne had new Hello Kitty earrings and showed them to Emma. That is all I have heard about since Wednesday. Emma asked several times if she could have Hello Kitty ears for her surprise. Up until today Josh said no. But, after much discussion with each other as well as Emma, we decided that if she wanted to get it done, then she could. We felt as though this was a big thing for her, sleeping without diapers and we wanted her to really enjoy her reward and also let her know that she is a big girl. I think we made the right decision. She was so excited and did a wonderful. She sat in the chair like such a big girl and I couldn't believe that we have a little girl old enough to get her ears pierced. She got them both done at one time which I think helped a lot too. I keep seeing her check herself out in the mirror and say how beautiful she is. After getting her ears done, we took the girls to Feeney's for some fro-yo.

(You can see here that Ryleigh's little boo boo is getting better. I don't think I ever blogged about it but a few weeks ago she cut her head and had to go to the emergency room. She got two stitches and then they glued the rest. She still has one stitch still in there but hopefully it will come out soon)

Oak Island 2012

We spent almost a week at Oak Island this year with my whole family. Josh, myself, the girls, and Katie stayed in one house and my mom, dad, Autumn & her family stayed about 2 houses away from us. It worked out great because there are so many of us. It's not so hectic when we are separated a little bit. I was really looking forward to taking the girls this year, especially Ryleigh, because she is a lot bigger and would be able to play more on the beach. Ryleigh is always very hesitant when her feet hit the sand. She usually doesn't want to walk out on it by herself but once she starts playing, she loves it. Ryleigh thought she was as big as all the rest of them. The first day or so she would come grab someone's hand and walk to the water. She loved to yell 1-2-3 Jump when a wave came. After that, everyday she got more brave by walking down there by herself and even going further into the water. She went too far a few times and tumbled over but then she got right back up when down to the water again. I definitely didn't like how independent she was around the ocean. Having my girls around that big ocean terrifies me but they know they can only go so far without someone. Having Cheyenne and Hailey there made a big difference too. They loved having someone else to play with. Every day we would get up and go out on the beach for a couple of hours. Then head back in, get cleaned up, eat lunch, take naps. After nap time we would go back our for a couple of hours before getting baths and fixing dinner. That is what most days were like. It worked out so well because they didn't spend too long out there at one time. I didn't want to burn them out on the beach. Most nights we fixed dinner at home but there were two nights we went out. One night we went to Provisions. YUMM! Then on Friday night we made a 30 minute drive to Calabash to eat at The Boundary House. Josh was the only one that had ever ate there and it was so good. I definitely plan on going back. We really did have a wonderful time but I was ready to come home too. After being on the beach all day my ankles would swell and it was painful to walk and it is also really exhausting. As I was sitting on the beach watching all the girls play I couldn't help but think next year we will be buying a little pair of swimming trunks and there will be a sweet boy out there too. I am so excited to take our first trip to the beach as a family of 5! Ok, so here are a ton of pictures. Some are mine, some are Autumn's, and some from Josh's phone! Enjoy!

Trying to get a picture of all 4 girls looking at you is rather difficult. :)

Cheyenne is absolutely fearless in the water.

Ryleigh had everyone laughing so hard because she would put her hands on her hips and bend down to jump when the wave came up.

Nana and her girls!

We went to Dairy Queen a couple of nights for desert.

Flying a kite!

28 Weeks! & Baby Boy's Name!

How far along? 28 Weeks!

Size of Baby: Baby boy is weighing in around 21/4 lbs and is about 14.8 inches long.

Maternity Clothes: Yes

Weight: As of yesterday I gained 2 pounds so I am now 28 pounds down from my pre pregnancy weight.
.
Gender: IT'S A BOY!

Labor Signs: Hopefully not till November or December!

Movement: Last week while we were at the beach his movement really slowed down. I thought that it was because I was just so busy that I didn't notice it like I usually do. But starting Friday night I didn't feel him at all. This continued all weekend but I still thought that it was because I just wasn't sitting down all day long. Sunday night I drank half a mountain dew and laid down for a while and he still didn't move. Since I had not felt him since Friday night, I called the doctor Monday morning and they had me come in right away. They did an ultrasound first and I was very relieved to see his little heartbeat. The doctor said that he had gotten himself into an odd position where I just couldn't feel him. Even during the ultrasound he was moving around a lot and I couldn't feel him. The doctor said that this could continue the rest of the pregnancy or until he got a lot bigger. Luckily our little guy started moving more today. Not as much as usual but hopefully he's getting himself into a better position.

Sleeping: Doing ok. If I lay on either side for too long it hurts my hips to stand up straight though. I try to turn as otften as I can though. I usually get up 2 times per night to use the bathroom but I can tell I'm going to have to move up to 3 times soon.

What I Miss: nothing

What I am looking forward to: I am looking forward to starting to purchase some new baby stuff soon. We are planning on getting quite a bit done the rest of the month. Also I'm excited that my little sister Katie will be moving in within a couple of weeks. I LOVE spending time with her so this is such a blessing for me. Oh, did I mention I am looking forward to the Fall weather coming.

Cravings/Aversions: Chick-fil-a cookies, chocolate cake, chips and queso, cocoa pebbles

Symptons: Still heartburn, swollen ankles(only at the beach so far)

Best Moment this Week: Seeing our sweet boy yesterday and also......we officially announced his name this past week. We finally agreed on a middle name and let me just say I can not wait to meet this little boy. He is so loved already.

I am so happy to share with you all that our sweet baby boy will be named......

His full name will be Grayson Blake Newnam. Don't you just love it? We do. It is absolutely perfect for this little boy.

Here are a couple of shots from yesterday....taken at 27 weeks 6 days.

Since we already know the date of our c-section, that means we only have about 11 weeks left!! Yay!

We are home!

We came back home yesterday after a great 6 day vacation at Oak Island. I won't like though, I was ready to come back home. After several days of hauling everything to the beach, keeping up with the girls, hauling everything back from the beach, etc., I was exhausted. My poor ankles were so swollen I could barely walk at the end of the day. But the girls had so much fun. I am so glad we got to go with my whole family. There was nothing cuter than seeing all the girls playing together on the beach. I am still trying to get the house straightened back up and finishing laundry but it is good to be back into our routine. I am really looking forward to some cooler temperatures this week as well. I will hopefully start going through all of our pictures soon. Autumn took a bunch as well so I'm hoping to get some from her. I will post them as soon as I can. They are so CUTE!

27 Weeks!

How far along? 27 Weeks!

Size of Baby: Baby boy is weighing in around 2 lbs and is about 14 1/2 inches long.

Maternity Clothes: Yes...I actually need to get some new shirts. The ones I have now are getting a little short. I also need to start looking for some fall clothes...maybe some cute capris or something.

Weight: According to my appointment last Wednesday I gained 2 pounds so now I'm about 30 pounds down from my pre pregnancy weight.

Gender: IT'S A BOY!

Labor Signs: Hopefully not till November or December!

Movement: He has been moving around a lot. He kicks the most at night tight and during the day he rolls around. We drove down to Oak Island yesterday and going 75 mph and him rolling around the whole time made me so carsick.

Sleeping: Doing ok. If I lay on either side for too long it hurts my hips to stand up straight though. I try to turn as otften as I can though. I usually get up 2 times per night to use the bathroom but I can tell I'm going to have to move up to 3 times soon.

What I Miss: Not much right now.

What I am looking forward to: I am looking forward to seeing what the rest of the week has in store for us. As I mentioned, we came to Oak Island yesterday and we will be here until Sunday. My whole family is here. The girs and I got to go play on the beach this afternoon and they loved it. They are so excited about going back tomorrow morning. I'm also really excited about my baby shower in a month or so. I saw the invitations yesterday and they are soooooo adorable.

Cravings/Aversions: Chick-fil-a cookies, chocolate cake, chips and queso

Symptons: Still heartburn. ugghh

Best Moment this Week: Passing my glucose test.....well, I assume I passed. No one has called me yet and they say "no news is good news." One less thing to worry about. Another great moment was schedule my c-section. It's on the calendar now and I am counting down the days. I'm so ready to meet this sweet boy.
