Randomness

There's been absolutely nothing going on lately, but I've managed to take a few pictures this week..

I was at Party City looking at some things for Ryleigh's Party and they had little watches for a dollar or two so I let Emma pick one out. She chose Hello Kitty....but she always says "Hi Kitty" instead of "Hello Kitty".

Emma likes giving Ryleigh(who she calls Ry-babe) hugs

The girls love bath time...Ryleigh likes chewing on the foam letters...and Emma likes to color with her bath crayons.

Emma's hair is getting so long these days. She is in major need of a bang trim and haircut. But I'm having so much fun trying new hair styles on her. Yesterday I gave her braided pig tails. I usually try to test out what I do with her hair at home to see how it will hold up while she plays. It turned out so cute.

Terrible Two's

My sweet Emma has the terrible two's very bad! Somedays she is sweet and loving and will listen. Other days, she ignores you, puts her fingers in her ears, and tells you no. It can be so frustrating and there's just not a whole lot we can do about it. We can try to discipline her, but I feel as though it has no effect on her what so ever. Here lately, her favorite word is "no". She says no to EVERYTHING. But....she does it in such a cute way, that sometimes you can't help but to laugh at her. Our big problem lately is her trying to get out of her carseat. She gets out of the straps that go over her shoulders. Yesterday we stopped 3 or 4 times to get out and get her back in her seat. Unfortunately, I hear there is nothing I can really do to stop it. Sometimes, I ask her to take something somewhere for me(diaper to the trash can, put something in the sink) and she tells me no, but then I ask her again and put it in her hand, and she throws it. She can throw a tantrum better than any kid. She literally falls face first on the floor and just screams and cries. I really don't know how she hasn't hurt herself yet. She has a fit when Ryleigh plays with one of her toys and she is always taking things away from her. I know that she will do that, even when she isn't two, but she is just so mean about it. Poor Ryleigh just wants to play with Emma and she wants nothing to do with her.

I know that this phase will pass, but it's just so tiring and overwhelming. You never know what you're going to get with her.

More Playground Fun

I promise you are not going to get pictures every time I go to the playground but since this is the first time this year we have been to the playground with Autumn, Chey, and Hailey, I thought I would post some pictures. It was so nice yesterday and we met them at Oak Ridge Park. I had never been there before so I was so excited to see what they had. I loved the playground. It had so much for the kids to do, plus these really cool swings. They are more for older kids but Ryleigh loved being able to lay back and swing. (she almost fell asleep in them) Emma loves running around with Chey and Hailey. I think it's so much more fun for her when she has someone to play with.

Our Day With Nana!

We had such a fun morning and afternoon with Nana. As I was getting Emma dressed before my mom came I picked out some jeans and a long sleeved shirt for her to wear and after I put her jeans on, I held up the shirt and she said "no". Well, I put it on her anyway and she threw a fit. So I took it off and asked her which one she wanted to wear. I held up different shirts and she kept saying no. So I lifted her up and let her choose and she chose a dress! I had to tell her no. She couldn't wear a dress to the playground, but she didn't understand. She was so upset with me. I can't believe my Emma has turned into a prissy little girl wanting to wear dresses. Anyway, my mom came over around 10 and we took the girls to City Lake Park in High Point since it was so nice outside. We were the only ones there and it was so wonderful to have the place to ourselves. Emma loved having Nana go through the playground and go down the slides with her. I let Ryleigh down to play but she couldn't quite walk on the uneven mulch very well and she kept falling and trying to eat it. But she did get to slide a couple of times.

After the playground, we met Autumn for lunch at Red Robin since her girls were at school. Target had their kids' sunglasses on sale yesterday for $2.99 so I let Emma pick out a pair. She LOVES them and never wants to take them. She even wore them almost the whole time we were in the restaurant. At lunch Autumn gave me some Kohls cash that she had that she wasn't going to use so after we left Red Robin we went to Kohls and got the girls a few short sleeve shirts and some capris and shorts. It's slowly becoming spring time and my girls need clothes, so this really helped alot. Thanks Autumn!!

We had a blast with Nana today and look forward to when she can come play with us again!

(yes, I know my pictures aren't great, but Josh is out of town and took my nice camera....again, so this will have to do!)

11 Months Old!

I am a day late. Ryleigh turned 11 months old yesterday. Where does the time go?! In one more month my little baby will be 1 and then she'll be a toddler. I think I might just cry. She is the sweetest little girl and has the cutest smile ever. I call her my little sidekick. She generally wants to be at least in seeing distance from me. If she can't see me, she comes and finds me and stands on my feet. She's getting better about that, but you can definitely tell she's a mamas girl. Here is what Ryleigh has been up to:

-She is still getting 3 bottles a day of 6 ounces each. We have started transitioning her to regular milk and she will be completely off of formula at 1 year.(yay for our bank account!)

-She takes two naps a day.

-She sleeps from 8pm-7am. She has been getting up once or twice but all I have to do is lay her down and pat her back for a minute and she goes right back to sleep.

-We started a new bedtime routine with the girls and they now both go to their room at the same time and go to sleep together. Since they share a room we knew we would have to tackle it eventually but they have done really well. Even if Ryleigh cry while going to sleep, Emma will still fall asleep and usually not disturb her. It's working out great so far.

-She is walking all over the place. She has gotten very fast too. It's so fun to see her toddle around and still be so young.

-She has 7 teeth

-She LOVES cheerios. I think they are favorite thing ever.

-She drinks great from a sippy cup.

-She is still wearing anything from 12-24 month clothes and size 4 shoe.

-She puts herself to sleep so well. At naptime, once I lay her in her crib, it takes her about 2-3 minutes and she goes to sleep. Night time, it takes a little longer, and I have to help her a little but we are working on it.

-She will say mama and dada and also give high fives. She said papa for the first time yesterday.

-Still doesn't like Blake, but is constantly playing with his toys

Ryleigh is growing up so fast. She is such a sweet and wonderful little girl.

Mommy and Daddy love you so much sweet girl!

(I promise to have lots of pictures soon!)

ryleigh.laine

This past Wednesday we went to Autumn's house to do Ryleigh's 1 year pictures and cake smash. I can't even tell you how difficult is what to get a good picture of this child. Everytime I would sit her down, she would immediately crawl away, and if I stood her somewhere she would walk away. But I think Autumn ended up getting some great shots! There were so many to choose from! Warning:Picture OVERLOAD!

just me and my girls

Today has been a really busy day for the girls and I. Josh went out of town last night and he should be back in a few hours so today has just been us girls. This morning we went to Autumn's house to do Ryleigh's 1 year pictures. I know it's still a month and a half away but I have to have time to order invitations and get them sent out so we went ahead and did them. We got some great shots, and Ryleigh's "cake smash" was a success. I have seen a few sneak peaks, but I can't wait to see the rest of them. I can't believe she is going to be a year old soon. Pretty soon I won't have "a baby" anymore. (holding back tears) It is absolutely exhausting trying to get pictures of Ryleigh though. If you sit her some where, she immediately crawls away....if you let her stand, she starts walking away. She won't just stay put. But I think we got some good shots anyway. By the time we got home from Autumn's house it was time for lunch and naps. They both napped at the same time so that gave me a chance to sit down and get some rest myself. Once Emma gets up from her nap she usually has a snack. I made some cupcakes a couple of days ago so I let her have one and she loved it! I think cupcakes are her favorite. Josh was supposed to have been home around 4 or 5 today but I found out that he wasn't going to be home until later tonight, so since William (autumn's husband) was working late, we decided to meet her and her girls for dinner at Elizabeth's Pizza. Sometimes I wonder what Autumn and I are thinking when we take all 4 girls 3 and under out to eat in public! But they do alright, it's just hectic. I don't even remember eating though. Once we got home from dinner, I got everything ready for bedtime and got the girls in their pj's. Only about 45 minutes till bedtime now! It's been a long day and I'm exhausted but I LOVE spending time with my girls. They are the best!

Yes, I know blog posts are kind of boring without pictures, but our card reader isn't working so I can't get any pictures off my camera. Hopefully Josh will fix it soon. (hint hint)
