What's new?

The summer is quickly passing....thank you Lord. I have no clue why everyone was complaining about the cold and snow this past winter. I LOVE winter and I can not stand these 100 degree days. It makes it 100 times harder to get outside with the kids and it's just miserable. I'm ready for some cooler weather. Josh has been really busy with work lately. He's doing a great job and selling a lot of stuff. My days are filled with taking care of one...then the other...then back to the first one. I don't hardly sit down all day...but that's ok. I'm glad that I am able to be home with the girls. Some of you may not know my job situation right now. After delivery, I was having some problems and my doctor would not release me to go back to work. Since I was out so much before Ryleigh was born, I had to go into extended FMLA, which meant my position was not protected. My director had the option of filling my position or she could wait for me to come back. Well, she didn't wait...and now I have no job to return to. It is not a very good situation for our family as our health insurance is through Moses Cone. But I know that God doesn't close one door without opening another one, so hopefully something will come up soon.

Emma:
Our little Emma is continuing to grow into such a beautiful and stubborn little girl. She has yet to speak any but is in speech therapy twice a week. I'm hoping it will help her. I know that she has so much to say but just doesn't know how. We also had her hearing tested this past week just to make sure that wasn't the problem and she did great. Her hearing is just fine. She is going to be 2 in a month and a half so I have been in party planning mode. We are doing a much smaller party this year so I'm looking forward to that. She has been doing great sleeping in her toddler bed. When it's bedtime, we get her in her PJ's and lay her down and cover her up and she usually goes right to sleep. We might have to go lay her back down a time or two sometimes but she usually does really good. She is still napping everyday from 12-1:30 or 2 and goes to bed at 8:00 and wakes up at 7:00-7:30. She loves to climb on everything. We are constantly finding her climbing on her toy box, kitchen chairs, and she has even figured out how to get on our bed. She is all over the place. She loves to play in the pool and just this past weekend learned to use swimmies. Emma is such a sweet little girl. We love her so much.

Ryleigh:
Ryleigh is definitely a stubborn little baby. She is nothing like Emma was[I know most of you are saying..."haha"] We had MANY people tell us that they hoped Ryleigh would be a horrible baby because Emma was so great. Well, I hate to tell you all....But Ryleigh is not a BAD baby. No, she is not as easy going as Emma was, but we think she is just a normal baby. She is usually happy unless you miss her nap times. She definitely requires sleep, and if she doesn't get it, she's going to scream. Now that she has been on her reflux medication, she has been so much better. She is holding her head up all the time now. She doesn't like to lay down anymore. She wants to be up looking around. She smiles all the time too and she has become a little "talker". She has really found her voice the past week or so. She is doing great at night time. She only gets up once, if at all. She has slept through the night a couple of times but that didn't last long. We will be starting cereal next week. She has gotten to where her bottles just aren't satisfying her enough. I looked back and we started Emma on cereal at four months and she did great, so we are going to try it with Ryleigh. If she doesnt tolerate it well then we'll stop and try again later. Ryleigh is such a beautiful little girl and even though she is a little more challenging than Emma was, we wouldn't change anything about her. :-)

What was your medical conditions? Wasn't your job a secretary? I would love that kind of work. I would love any work at this point.
