Day 3

Today was a long, fun, exhausting, and exciting day all in one. We got up this morning around 6:30 and went to the aquarium at Fort Fisher. Emma did great the whole trip. It took about an hour and 45 minutes to get there and she slept the whole way there and then the whole way back. I was a little concerned that as young as she is she wouldn't like the aquarium but she LOVED it. She talked to the fish and banged on the glass the whole time. We got to see all sorts of fish, reptiles, sharks, jelly fish, alligators, and they even had an albino alligator. Before we left, we went to the gift shop and got Emma a little stuffed turtle. After we left there, we stopped by Old Navy to do a little bit of shopping and then headed back to the beach house. We got back around lunch time and then my mom and dad got here about 1:30. Mom, Dad, Emma and I went to the grocery store while Josh stayed at the house to do a few things. Emma loved being pushed in the shopping cart by Papa J. She smiled and laughed the whole time we were in there. After going to the grocery store, we ate dinner a little early and then we took Emma out on the boat for the very first time. When we got back to the house, we pushed Emma in her little car and walked up to the pier. It is so nice to have my mom and dad here. I am excited about going out on the beach tomorrow and playing.

Emma's 1st Boat Ride

This evening we went on a short boat ride. It was Emma's first time ever on the boat and I wasn't sure if she would like it. She started off a little fussy because she didn't understand the life jacket. It was a little uncomfortable for her and we just had to get her situated. Once we got on the boat and got going, she started smiling and laughing. About 15 minutes into the ride, Emma fell asleep. She was already a little tired when we got there. She had fallen asleep from the house to the boat ramp and we had to wake her up to get on the boat. So she was sitting on Papa J's lap and then her eyes got really heavy and she just fell asleep. I'm so glad that she enjoyed it though....for the little bit she was awake.

I was already in the bed when Josh came into the room to go to bed. He had brought me a Dr. Pepper because I had asked him to bring something to drink when he came because I was extremely thirsty. So he hands me the Dr. Pepper...and heres how the rest of the conversation went.

Jen: Thanks babe

Josh: your welcome

Josh: what do you mean it's nasty?....it's Dr. Pepper

Day 2

Today was another lazy day for us....but I guess that's what vacation is all about. Josh's parents and brother left around 2:30 today so we stayed around the house and visited a little while until they left. Then we headed to Wal-Mart and Lowes to pick up a few more things. On the way back home Emma fell asleep and since it was also raining, we decided to drive around and look at some things. We went to The Point, which is where we were supposed to get married, but since the weather didn't cooperate we couldn't. We also got to see the house that my family stayed in the weekend of the wedding. I absolutely LOVE that house. It was so awesome. After that, we drove to where the new bridge is being built. We are all anxiously awaiting them to finish it because it will cut our drive time by about 30 minutes. When we got home we played with Emma for a little while and ate some dinner. Yesterday Emma found the stairs for the first time since she has been crawling, and she loves to go up them. She actually made it up all of them today. She was so excited. My mom and dad are coming to spend the rest of the week with us tomorrow and I am so excited. Day 1

So today was just a relaxing kind of day. When we got up this morning, Josh went out to breakfast with his dad and brother. I got Emma up, and gave her some breakfast and then we played until daddy got home. Then Josh and I went to Wal-Mart while Emma stayed with Josh's parents. We got her an awesome new pool to keep here for her to play in. We got her some sand toys and Josh's mom got her a tea set and also a sit-and-stand vtech toy. This afternoon Josh's grandparents came over and Josh's great uncle and aunt came too.....so Emma got to meet her Great Great Uncle and Aunt. How cool is that? After they left, we blew up Emma's pool and let her play in it. Then Uncle Sam decided he was going to get in the baby pool and play with Emma. She loved playing with him. Sam is cooking us some dinner right now, and then it will be time to give Emma a bath and put her to bed. She has had a busy day with lots of visitors and she is exhausted!

Oak Island.....Here We Come!!

So, since we are going to be at the beach for an entire week, I decided that I'm going to try and blog and the end of each day. Last night, I was extremely tired after working the night before and being up all day, so here is yesterday. We left Greensboro around 2:30 and after stopping at Smithfields to get something to eat and get Emma out for about 30 minutes we got to the beach around 7:00. The trip down here was so easy. Emma did awesome. She slept the whole trip except for about 30 minutes. After we stopped to eat, she watched a movie and played for 30 minutes and then slept the rest of the way. She loves riding in the car, and theres just something about her carseat, that makes her fall asleep. She didn't fuss one bit the whole way. Once we got to Oak Island, we stopped at the grocery store to get diapers, baby food, wipes, etc. and then headed to the house. Josh's parents were already here and Sam[Josh's brother] came shortly after. We spent the rest of the night letting Emma get out all her energy and then headed to bed. Our first night went pretty good. Emma is adjusting to sleeping in the pack n play pretty well. This is the first time she has gotten to sleep in the bottom of the pack n play as opposed to the bassinet. She seemed really comfy though. Today we are kind of relaxing and visiting with family. Josh's grandparents are down here too and they are coming over to visit. We plan on going to Wal-Mart in a little while to get Emma a pool to play in. I'm so exicted to finally be here!!

Bzzzz....

The other night, while Josh and I were eating dinner, I gave Emma a few puffs. So I did the flying puffs with the bzzzz.... sound. She went CRAZY! She kept giggling everytime. At the end she kind of got choked up because she was giggling too much. She is so crazy!

Our Day with Katie

So yesterday Emma and I ventured out to go shopping with Katie. Emma was in desperate need of a few more summer clothes and also some PJ's. So Katie came to pick us up and we went to Friendly Center. We went to a few stores, but only bought some things at Carters. I love me some Carters! They have some of the cutest clothes and they are always having sales so it is not really expensive. After shopping, we went to Sapporos to eat. I love Sapporos and the only time I ever get to go is with Katie. This was Emma's first time ever going to a restaurant like that, so I was a little worried about how she would react to the big fire when they start cooking. She did awesome though. I don't think she quite understood what it was and the heat from the fire didn't seem to bother her either. She mostly just people watched and banged on the table.[but it was so loud in there you couldn't here it, so it was ok] She always does a great job whenever we go out. Just give her some people to watch and some puffs to snack on and she's good to go. After we ate lunch we went to Babies R Us....and don't you know, I found the CUTEST shoes for Emma....... but they didn't have her size. :[ Why does that always happen to me? Grrrrrr...... After about 3 1/2 hours of shopping and lunch, we went home and Emma and I took a nap. We had so much fun going out with Katie. Emma loves her some Aunt Katie, that's for sure.

2 Days and I will be........

HERE!!! Words can't even describe how excited I am! I will be off work for....10 Days! We are leaving for Oak Island on Friday for an entire week. We are spending the weekend with Josh's parents and then my mom and dad are coming Monday-Friday! I haven't been to the beach with my parents in a couple of years and I'm really looking forward to it. It will be the first time that it will be hot enough for Emma to enjoy being on the beach. I can't wait to watch her play in the sand and dip her feet in the ocean! We also plan on taking Emma on her first boat ride!! How exciting is that? I still haven't even started packing and if you all know me......that means I'm already a couple of weeks behind! So the next 2 days are going to be busy getting things ready.

Katies Graduation

Last night Katie graduated from high school. She is growing up so fast. Me, mom, dad, Autumn, Joe, and my grandma all went to the coliseum to see Katie walk across the stage. It was well worth battling the thousands of people there. Katie was so happy and she just couldn't stop smiling. Today we had Katie's graduation party. It was a lot of fun. Everyone went swimming, then we had hamburgers and hotdogs. We are so proud of you Katie. Congratulations!

Do you guys remember this?? Me, Autumn, and Katie used to watch in ALL the time when we were little. We watched it so much that it annoyed my mom and she got it on DVD for Emma so that she could annoy me with it! I really liked it when I was younger but I'm sure when Emma starts watching it, I probably won't feel that same about it. Thanks Mom!!
