2 Month Check-Up

Josh and I took Emma to the pediatrician today for her two month check-up. She weighed in at 9 lbs 11 oz. She gained 11 oz. in one week!! Dr. Lowe said that she is just showing us that she can catch up because she didn't gain weight for so long. However, she is only in the 25th percentile for her age. So she is below normal but not enough where it is a concern. When we weighed her we had to take her diaper off to get an accurate weight and she had pooped..so we took her back to the exam room to clean her up and put a clean diaper on. Well Emma decided that she was going to pee all over herself and all over the table. It was so funny. She just kept peeing and peeing. [you gotta love her] She was also 22 1/2 in. long. She has grown 1 inch since her 1 month check-up. She is in the 55th percentile for her length. Dr. Lowe said she is "long and lean". It is really surprising to me that at 2 months old, she is still in newborn clothes and diapers. She also had to get 2 shots today. It should have been 3 shots but they didn't have one that she needed so she is on a waiting list for it. Emma took the shots like a champ. She cried for about a minute and then Josh picked her up and she was fine. She is getting tylenol every four hours. She has been asleep ever since getting her shots and she will be like that probably the rest of the day. But tomorrow she'll be back to normal. In other news, Emma slept a full 7 hours last night before waking up to eat. She went to sleep around 9:30 and didn't wake up until about 4:30. We fed her and then she fell back asleep and then we all got up around 7:30. We are so proud of her. We gave her a bath this morning and she did everything without screaming. Usually she will do fine while you are washing her but screams when you either get her out or when you are drying her off and dressing her. But she didn't cry at all. I think she actually really liked it. So she is starting to like her baths alot. Hopefully it will continue. It has been a really long day so far. But now that the shots are over, I can kind of relax a little bit. She doesn't have to go back to the doctor until 4 months, so we will have a little break until we have to this all over again. Little "E"s legs after her shots....ofcourse, she had to have Hello Kitty bandaids :]
