Meeska Mooska Minnie Mouse!

Yesterday we celebrated Emma's 4th birthday. Her actual birthday isn't until this Thursday so I'm sure we will be celebrating all week as well. Emma asked for a Minnie Mouse party this year and I also let her pick out everything for her party. This was so much easier than what I have done in the past and she loved it. We invited close family over for dinner and also to have cake. Emma's main request was to have a Minnie Mouse Cake and lots of balloons. I bought a helium tank from Party City and Josh and I just filled them up at out house. Much easier than trying to transport them all home. I think we ended up with around 28 balloons in the house. Emma loved them though. She was so excited all day long for her party and once it got here, you could really tell how appreciative she was. She loved having everyone here and she loves all the cool gifts that she got. I can't believe she is going to be 4 this week. Where is my baby?!

After her party we let her go outside and release a few balloons. Once we actually got out there she didn't want to let them go so she made me do it.

::Check Up & Random Pics::

Yesterday Ryleigh had her very late 2 year check up. She is now 2 years and 5 months old. Everything checked out fine. She is weighing in at 31 lbs 15 oz, which is the 85th percentile. She is also 34 3/4" tall, the 25th percentile. Both of my girls are short so this is no surprise. Ryleigh is gradually slimming down but not growing too quickly. After doing all of her measurements Ryleigh had to get 2 shots and also a finger prick. One of her shots was her flu shot and also while we were there they gave Emma the flu mist. So I'm really glad that the flu vaccines are taken care of. Because of the timing of her appointment I wasn't able to get Emma and Ryleigh down for a nap. Ryleigh has gotten to the age where she does ok without a nap however, Emma NEEDS her nap. She takes at least a 2 hour nap every day. We had to run an errand yesterday afternoon and Ryleigh took a little catnap.
I guess after the shots and the tylenol she was pretty tired. She had a big day. Is she not the sweetest thing though?!

Here are just a few more random pics from my phone.

Emma striking a pose outside of Red Robin. She is so full of herself sometimes.

Emma doing some grocery shopping. I took her to the store by herself to pick out her cake and we picked up a few things while we were there. She loves to push the little kid shopping cart. My ankles only got hit once! yay!

The girls love to sit on our bed and watch Dora. Ryleigh had to bring her book too, but couldn't take her eyes off the t.v.

25 Weeks!

How far along? 25 Weeks!

Size of Baby: Baby boy is weighing in around 1 1/2 lbs and is about 13 1/2 inches long.

Maternity Clothes: Yes

Weight: Down 32 lbs however I believe I might have gained a pound or two this week. It wouldn't surprise me with how hungry I've been.

Gender: IT'S A BOY!

Labor Signs: Hopefully not till November or December!

Movement: Lots of big kicks and rolling around

Sleeping: Really good right now.

What I Miss: sleeping on my stomach

What I am looking forward to: Emma's 4th Birthday party on Saturday. She is having a Minnie Mouse party and has picked out most of the decorations and even picked out her cake.

Cravings/Aversions: Chick-fil-a and spaghetti.

Symptons: Still heartburn. ugghh

Best Moment this Week: Saturday night Josh got to feel baby boy kick for the first time. I've been able to feel him from the outside for a couple of weeks now but I had to be in the right position and he would normally only kick a time or two. But Saturday night we were laying down watching t.v. and he was kicking a ton. Josh got to feel about 3 or 4 really good kicks. I loved seeing his face. I think it always makes it a little more exciting and real once they can start feeling them too.

I'm 99% positive that we have decided on a middle name. It's so nice not having to worry about that now.

::just a phase::

Back when I first started this blog I wanted to make sure to document everything so that when I looked back on it down the road I could remember what that stage of our lives was like. These past few months I've slacked a little bit but I am really going to start blogging more because I want to remember everything. Even though I mainly like to blog about the fun things we do or how sweet my girls are, I would be lying to say that  my life right now is just fun and great. Don't get me wrong, I adore my little girls and this little boy too. I have a great life and have been blessed beyond measure. I know this. But I also know that reality is just that......real. It has its up and downs and inbetweens. Things are not always as they seem. The past couple of weeks have really been kind of rough for me though.

My sweet little Emma is really testing her boundaries lately...... and also her attitude. I don't know where this came from either. Anyone will tell you that when we are out of the house and in public, or even at the grandparents house, she is the sweetest, most polite little girl. She has great manners and always great to be around. This makes Josh and I so proud because we are really trying to raise our girls to be well behaved and have great manners. When we are at home is a different story. Lately, she screams, tells us no, laughs at us when we tell her to do something, is mean to Ryleigh, etc. We just moved them into the same room this week and it's going great so I don't think that is the issue. I was talking to Josh earlier and mentioned that lately we haven't gotten out of the house much. That is mainly my fault. It's been hot and while being pregnant I just haven't felt like getting out much. I think Emma just has a lot of energy that I'm not allowing her to get out. Because like I said, when we are out doing things, she is great. So I'm really going to make it a point to do lots of things with them this week and see if that makes a difference. I really need to work hard to channel all her energy. I absolutely love her to death and she is so sweet. I just hope we can work out this issue soon. Please tell me I'm not alone!

Like I said earlier, we moved the girls into Ryleigh's room this week. We went with her room because it has a little better lay out and more room for their things. When I first started planning out their room I wanted to put them in their own twin bed. However, we recently had some bunk beds given to us and we decided to try those out first before buying new beds. So far, so good. I honestly don't really think Emma is quite old enough to sleep on the top bunk but I really wanted to give it a chance so that we could use that extra money on other things. She loves it on the top though and has done well. But with all that moving, we have had a lot of work to do also. I took apart the crib/toddler bed that Ryleigh has been sleeping in and also got Emma's old room cleaned out. We still have a few things to do to that room before we really start putting baby stuff in it.

I feel as though I have cleaned and organized all week long and still there is so much to be done. The crazy part is that it is not even the kids stuff. It's Josh and I that have so much stuff. Where does it all come from? But anyway, we still have a long ways to go.

Josh and I have also been busy cleaning out our big bonus room upstairs. I haven't said anything on the blog yet but my little sister is moving in with us next month for about 4 months and she will have that room upstairs so we need everything out of there. We are really excited about her moving in though. We can't wait to spend more time with her.

The weather is finally cooling down a little bit and I'm really looking forward to the next few months. We have our big family beach trip in a couple of weeks, a trip to Lazy 5 Ranch, my baby shower, Halloween, the Fair, and other fun things planned.

Ok, a gold star for you if you made it this far. But I think now I'm all caught up and I am definitely going to start blogging more so be on the lookout for some really cute pictures. :)

24 Weeks!

How far along? 24 Weeks! Viability!

Size of Baby: Baby boy is weighing in around 1 lb 5 oz this week!

Maternity Clothes: Yes

Weight: Down 32 lbs

Gender: IT'S A BOY!

Labor Signs: Hopefully not till November or December!

Movement: Lots of big kicks

Sleeping: Really good right now.

What I Miss: sleeping on my stomach

What I am looking forward to: 1st day of school next Monday. By the end of this semester, baby boy will be here. I'm so ready to get it over with.

Cravings/Aversions: not so much this week

Symptons: Still heartburn. ugghh

Best Moment this Week: This past Friday night Josh arranged for my little sister, Katie, to come and watch the girls while he took me out on a date. For those of you who know me well, you know that this doesn't happen very often. Josh and I rarely get a babysitter to go out alone. No one has ever watched the girls besides our parents and my sisters. We went to Macaroni Grill (one of my favs) and then did a little shopping. It was the perfect night out. Since we rarely get to do it, it makes it so much more fun and special.

Today we are also reaching viability. It's really comforting to know that if this little baby decided he needed to come and meet us now he would at least have a chance of surviving. He better not decide to meet us until November though.

Cravings/Aversions: not so much this week

Symptons: Still heartburn. ugghh

Best Moment this Week: Getting to have another 40 minute ultrasound. I love seeing this little boy and it never gets old. They were able to see everything else that they didn't see before except for one thing. There is one small part of his heart that they still haven't seen but from everything I've been told, it isn't anything to worry about right now. I go back to the doctor at the end of the month for my glucose test and also to hopefully schedule my c-section. It's crazy how fast the time passes.

Here are a few new pictures of our baby boy.

Face shot!
Proof that he is still all boy!
 Another face shot!

Sweet profile.

Do you see that big yawn?! Sleepy boy...

:baby cuteness:

*Scroll down to see my 21 week update!

I have been doing lots of online looking since finding out we are having a baby boy and I am really falling in love with all these cute little things. Here are a few things I've been eyeing. Since baby boy will be born late November/early December he is going to need lots of hats to keep him warm.

He will definitely have one of these little hats. Is that not cute as a button?!?!

He will only be a few weeks old at Christmas time and I think this hat would make an adorable little Christmas Picture. Not too mention would be really cute if we let him see Santa.

I love this little bear hat with the matching blanket! (really wishing I knew how to sew/knit right about now)

I almost died when I saw these!! I love the little brown ones and also the blue.

I can tell that I really need to stay away from etsy for a little while. :)

21 Weeks!

How far along? 21 Weeks!!

Size of Baby: Baby boy weighs around 3/4 of a pound and is about 10 1/2 inches long.

Maternity Clothes: Yes

Weight: Down 27 lbs so far.

Gender: IT'S A BOY!

Labor Signs: Hopefully not till November or December!

Movement: He is kicking a lot more lately. I mostly feel him at night time when I 'm laying down and not moving much.

Sleeping: Really good right now.

What I Miss: Absolutely nothing.

What I am looking forward to: Putting the nursery and the girls room together. I have so many ideas that I'm really excited about.

Cravings/Aversions: Not really

Symptons: Still heartburn. ugghh

Best Moment this Week: We registered at Babies R Us last week. I still have a few things to add but it's almost done. It was so much fun registering for a little boy. I'm not used to looking at all the blue stuff yet. :)  I also picked out bedding this week. I had a hard time finding something that I really liked but once I found this one, I knew it was perfect. One problem......it's a little expensive. Not too bad, but definitely going to have to convince my husband. ;-)

We have still not picked out a middle name. It's driving me nuts too. We love the first name that we picked out so we are not changing that but we are having a really hard time agreeing on something that we like and also sounds good. I'm really hoping we can figure it out soon because until we do, it will drive me crazy.

Morning with Ryleigh

Emma has been having a great time at VBS this week. They have dinner every night for the families and last night Josh and I took the girls and they were able to eat some tacos. After dinner is when bible school starts. We left with Ryleigh and Emma went home with my mom and dad to spend the night there with Cheyenne. They are having a great time today and that gave me the opportunity to spend some 1 on 1 time with my little Ryleigh. This is only the 2nd time Emma has ever spent the night away from home. The first time I was in the hospital having Ryleigh so I'm just not used to her being away from me. I may or may not have cried a little but I know that it is good for her and she is have a great day. On our way home last night from VBS Ryleigh was not happy. She doesn't quite understand why she can't stay at bible school and she really just wants to do what everyone else is doing. You have to be 3 years old to attend though, so she will get to go next year. To cheer her up, Josh stopped and got her a little milkshake. She loved it. She may have had a few sips of one here and there but she has never had her own. She sucked it down quick too.

Please excuse the crappy phone pictures.
This morning after breakfast and playing for a little bit I took her to Barnes and Noble to look around. She picked out her own book to bring home and she was so happy.

After the bookstore we picked up a kids meal from Chick-fil-a (her favorite) and came back home to eat.

I have loved spending the morning with just her. We have never had this 1 on 1 time together so it has been really nice. This afternoon Josh, Ryleigh, and I are going to register for baby boy and then get some dinner before we pick Emma up from VBS. I won't lie though...I can't wait to see my Emma.

Best Moment this Week: Reaching the halfway mark. Only 20 weeks or less until we meet this sweet boy.   Online shopping for the girls new room and the nursery. I have picked out bedding that I like for both rooms so I'm moving right along.

Josh and I have still not picked out a name for this little boy. We have had a lot going on the past couple of weeks so we just haven't really sat down to talk about it. I really hope to choose one soon.

I realize that lately the blog has been a lot of just pregnancy updates but I promise to start blogging more about the girls soon. We just moved our computer downstairs so I will be able to spend more time uploading pictures and blogging. So be on the lookout for some really cute pictures.

19 Weeks!

How far along? 19Weeks! Almost halfway there!!
Size of Baby: Last Friday during my ultrasound the baby was measuring at 9 ounces and is about 6 inches long.
Maternity Clothes: Yes
Weight: Down 24 lbs so far. My doctor is hoping that it will stop going down and level off a little bit, but we'll just have to wait and see. But as long as the baby is measuring ok then everything is fine. They will keep a close eye on him.
Gender: IT'S A BOY!

Labor Signs: Hopefully not till November or December!

Movement: little flutters up until this morning when I had a lot of tiny little kicks on my right side. Thats where baby boy has been hanging out during all of my ultrasounds so I guess he's comfortable over there.

Sleeping: Pretty good, although now I can't make it all night without having to get up at least once.
What I Miss: Absolutely nothing.

What I am looking forward to: Registering with Josh this week.
Cravings/Aversions: Not really

Symptons: Still heartburn. ugghh
Best Moment this Week: Getting our air conditioner fix this morning. Pure heaven!

Sunday night the temperature in our house kept creeping up and finally the air just quit working. It was about 80 degrees in the house that night. Josh went to Wal Mart and bought three fans around midnight and we were able to keep semi cool. Yesterday we spent the day at my mom and dads house hanging out and when we got home last night the house was 85. We put the girls to bed with a lot of fans but I still couldn't get cool so we got the girls up and I drove to my mom and dads to spend the night. Josh stayed home to try and get the house a little cooler. Luckily the 100 degree days ended yesterday and this morning it wa a lovely 73. The house was still around 80 though. The guy got it fixed a couple of hours ago and it is slowly cooling off in here. I never ever want to have to do that again. I definitely appreciate the air a lot more now.

Josh's new boss bought him a new scanner/fax/printer thing so he scanned some of my ultrasound pictures for me to upload here. There is also a couple of new ones from today. Enjoy.

Our Weekend & A New Chapter

This past weekend was HOT. Friday and Saturday were both over 100 degrees and miserable. Friday Josh dropped off his company truck in Raleigh because it was his last day with that company. He is starting a new job today and we are both so excited for this change. Right now he is on his way to Raleigh to meet with his new boss, go over policies, pick up his new truck, and meet some other staff. He will be doing the same thing that he was doing with his old job but this is with a much larger company, better pay and benefits, and a lot nicer people. I really think he is going to love this change and I know it will be much better for our family. Anyway, after Josh got back into town on Friday afternoon we went to open a new checking account at a new bank. We are frustrated and tired of our current bank and we thought that with this new job it was a good time to switch everything over. After that, we went to get some dinner and then to Target. Let me tell you, just walking from the car to the building was awful. Saturday was the same way. We didn't want to get out of the house but we had to go to Sam's Club and get a bunch of stuff for a big party on Sunday. After we got home we didn't go anywhere else that day. We enjoyed the 69 degree air conditioning. Sunday was the big day. We had been planning a big surprise 50th birthday party for my dad, who birthday is July 4th. It went great. My dad was completely surprised and we had a nice turnout too. It was supposed to be 100 degrees on Sunday too but we had some storms come through that cooled it off a little. Still really hot, but not unbearable. I was so tired after I got home last night. I am so glad that my dad didn't know anything about it because that made it so much more special. We are so happy that so many could come to celebrate with us. This week is supposed to be a little bit cooler, thank goodness.
